  1. This is something that's been on my mind for a very very long time. Adding the ability to Bhop on our Deathrun server. Why you may ask? Firstly, because it's fun. Secondly, because if you play regularly on our Deathrun server, you'll know that there's quite a few traps that you absolutely cannot escape or get past. Be it a ridiculously large hitbox, a quick moving (sometimes invisible) hazard, or it just being a huge trap. Bhopping could help Runners get through normally impossible or very difficult traps, or even help the Death catch up to people rushing on maps without a pusher. Obviously, however, Bhopping could also make the game much more difficult for those playing Death. How are you gonna catch them when they're moving at Mach 2? Simple, limit the max speed. I believe this is what our Surf server uses (please correct me if I'm wrong), and I propose we use this plugin for Deathrun, considering you have more control over the max speed a player can get and it's much much more customizable. I think Deathrun Redux automatically sets all player's speeds to 300 (except Death) unless our server has it edited. So perhaps set the max obtainable speed to 400-450? Hopefully the plugins use the same unit of measurement... I'm gonna put up a poll to see if anyone else who plays DR might be interested in this, or if the majority of players prefer vanilla(ish) Deathrun.
  2. Just a quick update on this. I'm still working on it, and here's proof: See? 2 whole new buttons! The map is nearly done (not counting texturing/lighting). Pretty soon I'll upload a version of the map in this thread that people can download and give me feedback on. The thought of theme had also occurred to me recently. How's a big simulation/hologram/inside of a computer type deal theme sound? The map keeps reassuring you that everything is working as intended but in reality, it's completely falling apart and dying. The theme won't be implemented until a later version of the map, it's just something I'm playing around with currently.
  3. Totally possible, Hide and Seek would work fairly well. I don't really like the Pacman minigame, but I could make an improved version. Maybe to where there would be crit pumpkins the Hiders could pick up, but the Seekers have a small health regen on? Dunno I'd need to play around with the idea a bit more.
  4. Ok, I looked into the map. It's pretty neat, but believe it or not, it's not that hard to do the stuff he did in the map other than the cool little animation he made the props do. Even then, it's totally do-able.
  5. I had actually planned to make a huge Dam themed Deathrun map as my first, but felt I wasn't good enough yet. Runoff looks cool, but I don't want anyone to feel like I ripped off a map (my minigames map already has inspiration from a ton of maps). Plus this map seems like it'll be more memey since it'll kinda be xG themed. Even though it's gonna trigger my OCD since the traps won't fit the theme. I do plan on making a themed map who's traps fit perfectly with it's theme, but that might be like 8 maps in the future...
  6. Planned on it. It'll be mostly and xG map, so I'll have a list of sounds/music and people in xG who helped out. Oh boy. I'll just have a trap that drops boxes with the :emoji_b: on it. All these memes though and just playing on the map will give you Terminal Steven
  7. Bumping this thread since it's still very much a thing. When I finish my minigame map, I'll begin work on this again. The theme is Steampunk/Machine I got ideas for traps Now for the most important element: Music Besides the Sweeper minigame, the thing most requested to me about maps is a music room, which will exist. However, my taste in music may be completely different from everyone else's. Simply put, post music you'd want to be added to the map in an easter egg/music room.
  8. +1 In DR a lot. Been playing here for quite a while as well A:8 M:7
  9. Nah. I've done a couple sound mods before. I'll have it all packed up into a nice .vpk for you.
  10. I think Announcer's more my style
  11. +1 I honestly had no idea Tipped wasn't already a member. The guy's been playing on xG for a quite a while. A:8 M:7
  12. Oh no. Skeletor Spy would be hilarious. "Off to visit your Mother! MYAAH!"
  13. Even though they're not a class or in your list, I'd be up for doing the Announcer. Might take me a while since I'm doing like 50 projects at once, but I've got experience in making sounds mods and packing them into .VPKs and whatnot.
  14. Congrats @Matteomax and @Krampus don't screw it up ;) Also congrats to @Thunder for finally breaking the Probationary Mod curse What happened with MC though?
  15. Wow dude, you must have a really good gaming mouse! -1 for unban, obviously hacking, obvious alt, perhaps extend to an IP ban
  16. Sorry, Staff roster says a person named @Shwoos is staff, dunno who you are ;)
  17. Although it might just be my OCD, I'd prefer if it was a written rule. I hate the old "An Admin once said this was against the rules, I think" A rule being just hearsay that only a group of people might of heard or were present upon it's creation just bugs me.
  18. I apologize in advance to any higher ups if I'm out of line making this thread So, what am I talking about? Why, none other than Conscientious Objectors. I've noticed there's no written rule about Objectors containing inappropriate content, much like our Spray rule, and this is a problem. Hell, I don't even know if such a rule exists, but it sure needs to. Nothing like having a moving porn spray whacking you in the back of the head on a map, . But having a rule in place for such a thing isn't the only reason I've made this thread. The real issue is having Staff members enforce a rule regarding nudity/derogatory content in sprays whilst having an Objector equipped with something equally as bad or even worse. Lemme run a scenario by you. A player joins and uses his spray. Perhaps it's a bit too revealing and it breaks our rules. A Staff member warns him about it and removes the spray. A while passes and that same player notices that the Staff member's currently equipped Objector contains the same damn thing. Why, that'd be embarrassing, wouldn't it? Hypocrisy among our Staff members, why never! Well, it happens quite a bit... More often than you'd want it to. "But Bone" you may be saying "It's just a little bit of nudity/lewd content. Don't be such a baby!" That's not the point. It's the principle of it. Even if there's no rule on it currently, Staff shouldn't be trying to circumvent the spray rule by putting it on a sign instead. We're supposed to be enforcing rules, not showing people how they can get around them. TL;DR: There needs to be a rule in place on Objector content/Staff shouldn't use Objectors to display imagery that wouldn't be allowed as a spray Tagging ALL TF2 staff members whether they like it or not for a potential discussion: @Basquiat @Vexx @mrnutty12 @Sesh @Vector @BonfireCentipede @Vacindak @Vargas @Elcark @ThunderLimes @YeEternalTuna @Kypari @Floppy @Parasect @LemonVolt @TheSupremePatriot @Ms.Spooks @Moosty @sick41057 @NitNat @Natsu @Blizzard @Hibiki @Spoopy @Amylicious @Thunder @Frusty
  19. +1 He can't make maps but he's a neato DR regular. PS: It's not his fault Hammer hates him :(
  20. Wait... the plugin uses the default Sourcemod mute? Dear Lord, how has this not caused problems like this before?
  21. Your thread title is very rude. However, anytime someone uses the word holiday in that context it reminds me of the movie "Chicken Run". So thanks for that. Also have fun or something...
  22. Heh. Well, I talked to Conne and they basically said "Yeah, I know about the problem, just use v2" Haven't got a response from the dude who made winterhill/valley, since he's a CS:GO mapper now And apparently nobody made the TF2 version of the Mario map, since the only one I can find is the original CS:S one. Unless @Thunder remembers where he got the map from, there's no one taking credit for the TF2 port, and the original guy didn't do it.
  23. I may be a bit biased, since @Rejects was a major reason why I'm even a part of xG to begin with, but I feel he's served his time. Rejects was a very effective member of staff, and when he was DL he got got things done. He knows what he's doing and has no problems actually doing it. He just had a lapse in judgement during a tough time, but I'm sure he's learned from it. And in case you haven't noticed, Rejects hasn't left since his demotion, unlike a lot of other staff who've completely given up or straight up left xG for similar reasons. He's still fairly active and plays regularly on the servers (if his ping isn't too Scottish...). +1 from me. Rejects is a good guy and a good staff member.
  24. Quick little update here. Before I work on any of these maps, I'm going to attempt to get into contact with the original makers so that I can gain their trust then kill them and take their place permission to make changes to their maps. Although the actual fixes will take me 30 minutes to do, it may take a while before I hear back from them.
