Eyy, some of these are pretty neat. Any plan to list some neato particles/sprites or sounds as well? (Edit: Didn't see the first Sound mod on the list because I'm blind. Either that or wearing sunglasses indoors is a really bad idea)

I was just explaining why a few of them were removed a while back. Fixing these is actually really easy, it just requires someone to have access to the server files to make the change. You just go into the boss' .cfg file and change the class attributes they use. For example, changing the Servant Grunt's class from Pyro or whatever to something like Sniper. He wouldn't get any kind of PP perk and Pyros would actually be effective against him. @Rejects knows what I'm talking about. Models and animations all still work fine. This same technique can be used for any boss that can have a potentially unfair advantage.

Well, see the issue was due to the main power up that the team fighting against the boss gets, PlayPoints. See, certain bosses use a specific class, and say that person has a PP ability for that class, well, it makes it much harder. Bosses like Chuck Norris used the Heavy, which allowed players to use Hyper Heavy as him. You're talking about a global rage on life loss and a rage that gives him a weapon that one-shots most classes whilst being super fast. A lot of those bosses that were removed had an issue that allowed them to use the powers. Sandmen, Heavydile, Herobrine, Bowser, Shrek, Sanic, etc... Now a way we stopped that was to go into the boss' .cfg and change their class, which could cause issues with some bosses... Now that all PP powers are back, we have to re-take this into account again. Meaning if we re-add Sanic and Sandmen they will have either 520 or Homing Balls. So before re-adding them, they'll need to change their .cfg defined class again

Or you could always design a new boss *cough* As long as you have a functioning model, it's fairly easy to make a .cfg for their powers, health, and sounds. Hell, there's even a program to do it for you if you don't want to type that much. I'm sure if regaining population is the intent with adding back old bosses, then surely neat xG specific bosses should keep people sticking around.

How about PlanetSide 2? I know it's a fairly old game, but it's free, so pretty much anyone could join. We also wouldn't need to make any servers, since the game has their own. I used to be in a PS2 clan years ago, and it's a much more fun experience when you've got a group of people hopping into a Galaxy to go blow stuff up than wandering a huge map trying to find fights. The only issue I can see is getting everyone grouped in a single server, but that's pretty much how all our other servers work. All we'd have to do is make an [xG] Outfit and just keep people interested in playing by making population type events to get a Platoon and Squads going and go blow stuff up.

I used to play a lot of PF, it was pretty popular a couple years back. PF was a lot more like a Freerunning gamemode than an obstacle course though. Mirror's Edge in TF2, if you will. Which is why I suggested it be a part of our DR server. It'd be adding new stuff to a server that still gets pretty decent population. It'd essentially be a DR map without forcing someone to play Death. This way, worst case scenario if players don't like it, they don't vote for it to be the next map.

I have had a similar idea for years, ever since I started playing DR on Gmod. The idea was a map that uses only what's known as "Auto traps". Holes that fall through the floor, jumping from platform to platform, and traps that activate themselves. Basically deadly obstacle courses. The map would also set a bot to constantly be on the BLU team, meaning no one has to perform the task of being the Death, and everyone in the server can run. The only issue was making the map, since I never have the time to do so. If you're willing to make a map, I'll certainly help if I can, since I know a few things about Hammer. As for plugins. I think we could get away with just running the normal DR plugin. As long as it has a permanent BLU team member (or a bot if we can get that to work), it should just run like an obstacle course with a timer. I +1 the idea if we can get a test map running on the DR server. This way we could make several maps that feel like a new gamemode without replacing a server.

True, but it was something that wasn't automatically detected. At least in Trade servers there's a chance they slip up and get VAC'd, in DB it took an Admin to manually ban the guy since his scripts weren't being detected (and he was on the server for over 30 mins). Plus, there was a lot more regular staff on Trade than on DB when it was around. But like I said, this was almost 2 years ago. We might actually have staff on DB most of the time if it's popular. I was just saying that hackers ruin the fun much quicker in a game mode like that than in Trade/Pokemon.

Wait, did we use "Not another DB plugin" or the other like 3 whose names escape me now? Anyway, another issue of DB was hackers, believe it or not. Guys would come in and ruin games by simultaneously running aimbot and an auto reflect script. If there were a total of 3 people on the server (like it usually was) it was hard to get a response. But of course this was, what, like 2 years ago almost? If DB could actually be popular, I'd be up for it. But remember, there's always a chance it'll go the way of the Hidden and Smash servers and go under-popped for a majority of the time (not counting population events)

If the limit could be increased, that'd be neat, but there are a few things that need to be considered. With certain maps, too much speed could cause more trouble than help. Utopia is a good example. Once you hit around 450% - 500% you'll actually go fast enough to skip certain ramps. If that speed is increased, you'll either fly into walls or hit ceilings and loose the needed speed you had. On the topic of Air Acceleration. If you're using the plugin I'm thinking of, it can be increased. A warning though, if the acceleration, strafing, or curve needed to accelerate is edited, it changes the physics for the entire gamemode. It gets to a point where you can jump in a straight line and build speed, and where just holding down A in mid-air without turning will send you flying to the left. It'd be neat if we could maybe set it up to where the player chooses it for themselves rather than force the entire server to readjust to new Bhop and Air strafe physics, but that's just my opinion.

This was essentially a more advanced version of "Trade ur friend pls so I can c if its a dupe, thx" The question is, did the other guy lose his stuff too, or did two people plan this scam out against you? If the other guy lost his stuff, yeah the Sapphire guy's up to no good and starting some trouble in the neighborhood. But if the other guy still has his stuff, then both need to be reported to Steam/Steam REP Either way, they still need to be reported. If you can't find their profiles, go to your inventory and inventory history, find the trade and you'll get a link to his profile

dr_simpsons is known, in all games that have it, as an extremely easy to rush map. An easy fix would be to put a speed strip on the Death's side to help him pick up speed or just set the traps to not do Gmod damage, but that'll have to be Hammer'd in
