Maybe add an option to notify users when we change their ranks on forums? And then simply close the thread with no message?
 

I'd be down to participate or help lead but I can probably just give you or help with our current official steel team instead of making a new one. I'm just wondering if this will be a for fun team or actually trying to be skilled, because our other attempts at trying have just led to toxicity, fractured friend groups and 2 win seasons, while our for fun seasons led to 2 wins and actual fun and laughter in teamspeak.
 
 
 
I don't want to be rude, but I have some concerns, xG has tried quite a few highlander teams, and only two have finished one or more seasons. It takes alot of hard work to organize practices and scrims among 9 different players, and unless you're absolutely committed the team probably won't last four games. This seems like it was a spur of the moment decision to make a team, and those don't usually pan out.
 
My advice if you want to succeed would be to glean as much information as you can from other leaders, keep them added after you've played them so you can organize scrims and ask them what groups they use to find scrims. And don't just talk to the players on match days, keep that dialogue open so you're not surprised by an absence.

In regards to a recent ban protest (as a quick tl;dr Supreme banned a guy for 24 hours after he commented on his profile because he got muted/gagged), we have been asked to make a statement and clarification regarding if staff are allowed to punish players for things they do outside of a server.
 
Personally, i agree with what forest says in the thread.
 

 
Staff are expected to defuse situations that occur and i feel like upping the punishment only added fuel to the fire (which is why the ban protest was made in the first place). The best course of action would have been to either block the player in question or simply just to ignore him.

Then you shouldn't have abused a bug and kept doing it when you were told to stop and had been punished for it several times before. I'm sorry, but breaking rules is against the rules and comes with consequences.

I am well aware of my bad temper and I am working hard to find ways to hold it back for the sake of keeping the servers enjoyable and welcoming for anyone willing to uphold that nature. It is a server that revolves around fun, so it is my responsibility as an active friend of xG to cool my jets whenever I feel too angry or pressured.
 
I would, however, like to point something out. Rather than being one sided a lot of the arguments that occur are the faults of me and other participants together. It isn't exactly a difficult thing to poison the waterhole and set everyone off just from a few things said that could've been phrased in a much better alternative way in order to convey a point without hurting the feelings of someone else or, bluntly, setting someone off.
 
The belief that all fires are started by a single individual is a really flawed and often terribly held up one that carries this herd mentality for crowds that can lead to harassment and a lot bigger problems. But I digress. I am prone to starting drama and that is something that must change. So... I will do my part and calm down if only this can all be wiped from everyone's memory for the future.

hey guys, we have an urgent issue on the Minecraft server.
 
The server suffered a crash and when myself and the others playing got back on we noticed several plugins no longer exist within the game.
 
Towny is gone, and our town we spent so long on is now under threat from creepers, fire spread, griefers, you name it. All rights to the town are none existent.
 
We also do not have our tags visible in the chat, so we can only assume how many plugins are actually broken. I can confirm teleporting still works but thats as far as we have tested thus far.
 
We desperately need someone to head on over to the server side of things and fix everything ASAP.

I think you misunderstood the security part. The reason silence doesn't want a discord is because we have no idea where the data we are transferring is heading, and what discord is actually doing with the data we are giving them. With Teamspeak all voice data is sent to our own server (this is the important part) so therefore we know for sure that whatever is going on in there isn't being sold or w/e.
