This is a friggin' trade server, why would we disable random crits? rofl Edit: Most of the people who asked for random crits to be removed are just mad because they lost a fight in what, a trade server! :ooooo

Lenny faces are annoying, and it's a shame that we seem to be the "Lenny Face Graveyard". Although, do we really need to filter lenny faces? No we honestly don't. They're annoying as hell, but you really shouldn't let a stupid set of characters put your knickers in a bunch. Lenny face gives more of a "haha joke!" or smug emphasis onto a statement, but even without the face the statement could still be offensive/a joke. For example, let's take these two phrases: "Wow, you are fucking stupid and suck at this game." and "Wow, you are fucking stupid and suck at this game ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)". Both statements could be considered a joke/offensive, but you're going to look at the statement with the lenny face and erupt. Stop and think about what's angering you. A damn meme. What Blank said is what should be worried about. Putting a filter on racial slurs or other super offensive material. If a person on the server is trolling around (using lenny or not), then staff should be punishing them. If not, then there is a problem. Again, I don't care for lenny faces, but you don't see me grabbing a pitchfork and torch to kill them. Like come on, guys.

-1 Are you trying to kill our population? Quite a bit of our population are more "competitive" players. Team Fortress 2 was made with random crits. If people cant deal with a function of the game, that is their problem. The competitive people are those who come back the most. Crits are what make things interesting. Better not on surf. No one complains about it on surf; most of us find it quite hilarious as we do duels and stuff.

This and the random crits thread just reeks of people wanting the server their very own special way, with every single thing that irritates them gone.

and who likes random crits? who thinks random crits are fun? It's literally one of the most complained about things about tf2 in general. Your argument was this isn't competitive. but by that logic we shouldn't even have no weapon spread.

Maybe do a test run for a week and see how the people on the server like it?

I noticed when I was added by @Vacindak to help modify his guide that there is a delete option and can allow you to hide paragraphs or completely delete them. It to me looks like the powers are backwards; the creator should have delete powers and the contributors should be able to request for a deletion of a paragraph but can hide, edit, all the normal stuff. @Aegean @Rhododendron

Lol you being an edgy scout has nothing to do with random crits, you're just an edgy tryhard scout. Own that ish. I just don't see how people even notice this enough to think it's a problem. It might just be me but I just fight if I want to and can hardly notice the difference between normal kills and crit kills (except the obvi headshot/backstabs) I legitimately don't even see a noticeable difference. But that's probably cause I play mostly on blu, where chances are you're spammed down so hard and instantaneously that you can't tell what killed you.

Also please don't project what other's are thinki I don't like that people who want to keep it the way it is, are judging people who don't want crits as some sort of try hards that ruin fun. That's all i'm seeing in this thread. That's not fair. Again, i don't see why we can't get rid of random crits when we have no weapon spread. Also, as other's have said, why not make it into a weeks trial? If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. (that is, if it does pass).

In an addition to my post, I'd like to say random spread is much worse than random crits IMO. I guess I'd be fine with doing a test run like @Thunder suggested, but in the end I'd rather just keep it a bit more on the casual side of things, and less competitive side of this. I'd be fine with crits being removed, since its no biggie and not everyone has to rely on them to get one kill. tl;dr I'd be fine with removing it but it removes a lot more of the casual game play from the experience on the server. My -1 still stands.

Yeah it's a casual trade server with you know, rtd. The thing that can make you invincible or a biological superweapon for 20 seconds, or make you blow up or catch fire. Pretty random and with a lot more impact. But it's a much more FUN system of randomness imo. I don't mind crits on a server like this, but when it's up for vote I'll vote for their removal as I'm fed up with the contradicting hot mess they are. A mechanic put in as an element of randomness that can break stalemates/stomps, and yet they are more likely to happen for the people that are stomping and all that stuff. Ending a fight with a crit can be a slap in the face to both the critter and the one on the recieving end, and while it is a trade server you can't deny people tend to get in little duels and such a whole lot. And this is just my opinion of course, but personally I find melee fights with no crits more fun. Lasts longer and makes it feel more like a duel. I guess that goes for crits in general, but it's not like guns can reach that delicious 65% crit chance that melee weapons can, so it mostly applies to them.

People with lennies just hit them at random times, not really "spam" them. I don't see one good reason to remove them from the server. lol

+1 , because that sounds hilarious. I laugh at servers that replace it with stuff like "trade me for free items" but that's obviously a bit too far when I really think about it. Sort of need SOMETHING to get through so they realize it got swapped and they don't freak out and think their script isn't working though.

i want this but most people don't afaik it might be a trade server but i don't think it hurts to have a few objectives going on in some maps not like it disallows you to trade or fuck around anyway

I have no idea why you would say that then, seems kind of silly. It's not a real problem i don't understand why you and others think it is. It's just a suggestion where people can vote on how they like to see the servers, some people don't like crits so we are having a vote to see if we should keep them on the server or not. It seems like people think that this will instantly kill the fun when it's just turning off random crits. The server is pretty much a DM server since trading hardly ever happens, but people still chat anyway. I'm not sure why you think it will be a DM server with no fun and no chat with random crits off.

It's not the working part that we're talking about. It's the servers reaction.

+1 Random crits should be removed from tgh pokemon and surf. Even though these are casual servers, it's still very annoying to lose just because of rng. On jailbreak it gives rebels more of a chance to rebel and actually kill, so it should be kept on there.
