Dont come back

: Many of you know as of now the Minecraft server is a steaming pile of shit. I am aware of the many issues and bugs and crashes with the server. If you have made threads about it or have talked to me personally about it don't think that I have just ignored you. When the server launched, there were some road bumps but for the first month or so the server went well. Then school started, the population died, and some other shit happened. Now I have a server on my hands that is nowhere near where is should be or where I want it to be and that is my fault. I don't have the time or the experience to keep the server operational all by myself, but that's not an acceptable reason for the server to be so underpopulated and broken. I will be talking to @Aegean about the future of the server, of my position, and where I think it should go. We have had a conversation before, but we really didn't go anywhere with it. I'm sorry that its gotten this far. I should have tried to fix this a while ago.

Let me just say that making a ban protest doesn't automatically get you banned. Each ban protest is treated as a special case and is determined as such. Making posts throughout the thread like: "I won't do it again. Unban me." doesn't really make your case better. I will say however, that a perm is a bit overkill. For anyone who is actually curious to his previous bans, here: Xeno Gamers He's be banned for exploits and calladmin abuse. Personally, a shorter length ban would have been more than fine. If he came back after being banned again for exploiting, just to continue doing so, then perm should follow suit. Also, I want to tack on, that I never based their ban time on their previous bans as a whole. I would look over them, sure, but banning for continuous trolling versus exploits is different time decisions. Obviously this guy may be different from the rest of the people that are banned, but figured just give some food for thought on this statement.

The system nearly all staff (as far as I know) are using is Warn, Gag/Mute/, Kick, Day, Week, Month, Perm, regardless of the differences between the rules that they have previously broken. For example, if someone gets banned for a day for micspam, they could get banned for a week for trolling. Changing the system to make it so this person isn't banned for as long would be altering the banning system that we should be using right now so I think a perm is justifiable for now unless the higherups want to have a discussion about the banning system we are currently using.

Well the idea of changing how submissions work was to allow more people to get member obviously. We wanted xG to stop feeling like some kind of exclusive club or something along those lines. Usually when people don't get member, they don't even try to re-apply. They just move on to some other clan, one that is much easier to get into. By reducing the time it takes to get in, and also reducing the requirements, we are then hopefully able to keep peoples attention on xG instead of wherever else it is. If you feel someone is not fit for member, you can always make a member protest, that's why the section is there. Even though I am confused about the new requirements myself, hopefully things will become more fleshed out in the coming weeks.

Seeing the holy shit like 18 people just got member thing. I honestly dont like this idea anymore. People can join the server once and get in. Wasnt getting in xG supposed to be special? When you had to get like 10 +1s in the past it felt so god damn good to get in. Now you dont even have a vouch limit. Also I dont really understand this Senior/Junior member thing. Does it happen in promo/demos? What kind of tags do they wear? Seeing what has just happened with so much people getting in I feel bad for the people who had to try their best to get member and finally get it like after a month. I know that we want more people in but why couldnt we just reduce the vouch limit again? People arent getting vouched or getting replied to in their submissions because they either havent played and people havent seen them or people are just abstaining. I have so much questions with this new change and I hope someone can answer them.

Will a more indepth thread be made in the xG-News section of the Forums? Just curious as it would receive better saturation than it would here in the General section (especially because it applies to Xeno Gamers as a whole)

I thought max on TF2 is 32 (33 if replay enabled / 34 if replay and sourcetv)

If we get more members, that’s a good thing. Valve has a feature where you can auto-join when there is an available spot. Thats the only solution for now.

@Forest Silence and I had a ton of discussions about this aspect, and we did come to the conclusion after looking at other communities that our bar for membership was too high in the beginning. We did not want our community to be like "the old boys club" where if you don't know the right people or don't talk enough in servers you can't get in. We still value input from our members, but we do not want the reasoning of someone not standing out enough to be the reason they do not get into xG, and to find another community that accepts them with open arms. I know there's pros + cons to either way, but we feel this way has more pros than cons as it's easier to get rid of bad members, than it is to bring in quality members who might be shy. As virr mentioned as well, people will still need to be standout members to get staff, and also we will provide way more giveaways + events to glorify the members who are active in our community. Once our traffic is much higher in our community, and people are applying at a much higher rate, I'm sure people will visit the forums more often to give vouches towards players as that'll be a good way for them to increase forum count to apply for mod if that is their goal. Considering all things being said, I think it'll be a net gain that we will realize within a few months, especially once summer hits. I never have any issues with discussion so no need to apologize. I edited the membership guidelines thread again, Virr rewrote it to make it much simpler and cleaner and I forgot to edit the 2 day part in.

Yes we will be, if found multiclanning we can strip your membership and to re obtain it you might need 3 dm+ vouches. Of course before anything is done we will talk to the member and go from there.

Rejects and Nutty were testing the range of the pyro's flamethrower. Nutty on the right side, as the red pyro, has a ping of 20. Reject on the left side, as a blue pyro, has a ping of 120. This is not okay.

It's not entirely your fault so don't feel too bad. There is just a lot that needs to be done and unfortunately you just don't have the skills at the moment. It'd be nice if we could get someone who knew enough about the server side stuff to maintain the server. As for population minecraft is already a slow game when it comes to population anyhow but it's more of how popular servers will keep bringing in new players because they have higher voting ranks. The fact that you're the only staff I've even seen on minecraft for a while doesn't help either. The issues stem from lots of things that aren't in your control to be fair. I am curious on what will happen to the server as well but I can definitely hope for the best ^-^;

As of right now no its still up and running (relatively) but there will be discussions on what direction we want to take it. Super has been super mad busy lately. So we will talk with him when he is able too. He knows a lot more than me about minecraft.
