Also NSFW content is banned on our servers because it's against the server's TOS, and was never really something I was against when the community was started. Since Discord is not on our own host, I don't have a problem with having a single channel dedicated to the shitposting. And if it's the ONE place it's allowed, then why not have it on Discord?

Hey, everyone! We've had discord (link, wink wink) for a little while now, and the most discussed and perhaps confusing topic has been the nsfw channel. A couple of people have reached out to me and asked about and we have been discussing internally for a little bit and came to the conclusion to let you guys decide what to do with it. You know the drill, vote closes in 1 week. The vote with the most votes wins and decides the future of the nsfw channel. Thank you and have a great afternoon! :)

I would say +1 for removal just for consistency's sake. As has been previously stated there is no way to regulate who is actually 18 and an nsfw channel will cause confusion with every other aspect of xG. Plus I can just taste the inevitable loli argument 2: Electric Boogaloo coming on. and with the boundary pushing people trying to bend serious rules and the months of clarifying threads and arguments that are likely, it could all be avoided if we just didn't. But that's just my two cents and I won't be the one moderating it so if people want a harder job godspeed. Ps while I can edit I do like the idea some have mentioned of a server group to opt in to seeing it, instead of it being on the user to mute/avoid. That seems much safer and easier to manage on our end.

owl-Today at 1:21 PM i vote keep it in every discord server ive been in having a channel dedicated to anything any dumb shit ppl want to post offensive/porn/whatever makes the quality of every other channel much better makes jobs of the staff much easier as well "nsfw" essentially acts as a containment channel, where people are free to do whatever the fuck they want as long as its legal and not harassing others. its necessary, serves a purpose that isnt just for jerking off, and probably helps create some sort of community bond somewhere (looking at all the freaks that spam trap stuff/even legitimate porn) if you dont want to look at it, mute it. if we do add functionality where ranks can only view (I don't see the reason to do so personally), it should be automated somehow (bots r Kool). i know nobody wants to deal with asking other people if they can essentially view the "porn channel", and i know no staff are gonna wanna deal with that either lmfao thanks have a nice day edit: as for "people can lie about their age" or whatever similar dumb argument, xG isnt the internet police; we arent responsible for preventing kids that are already going to look at porn to look at porn rofl

If we do not allow NSFW content in our servers, the rule should stand for discord as well, otherwise we are giving mixed signals.

I think the biggest question i got when people came to me and talked about this is that we are so anal about nudity and 18+ material on servers but on discord its suddenly ok. It's only fair for it to be a community vote as some people obviously feel uncomfortable about it.

@virr you can add a role w're the people only with the role can access or even see the ch. So people can ask for the role. If they ask for the role then I'm pretty sure that they know what nsfw (young or old) so we can't prevent them from "seeing". And if people don't know what nsfw is then they won't even see the ch. Hence they don't wanna see it. Then they can not ask for the role. (It's what I do for my main discord ch. I mod a mobile phone clan ch with around 160 people. Still growing :D)

Lolicon/shota is super against discords tos and will be perm on sight, nsfw channel or not.

I only use it to post ironic nsfw, so neutral if it goes or stays. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ However, There's no accurate way to filter or check if anyone is 18+, so why not make it so you need a specific role to view the channel in itself and if the person wants access then they can ask for the role to filter out the people who don't want to associate with the channel and get to mostly satisfy both sides of the spectrum. @virr

Keep it wtf is this? If we can separate all the NSFW content from the content the kiddies see, then it's their fault if they click saying that they're 18 when they're not. (Besides which, it acts as pretty much a "catch-all" filter for the most cancerous stuff.)

Create a safe space rank that disallows the permission of viewing the channel.

Keep it. People can mute the channel if need be (just refer to Kypari's post). Half of the shit so far is trap/furry/vomit related smut. If anything, we need a channel dedicated to big butts. Who's with me?
