So I made a short video demonstrating how the plugin could work in game: *Note: I know it's not a 100% accurate representation due to not having a Death to operate the traps You may notice that it doesn't take much time at all to build up speed, which removes any concerns that not everyone can do it and that people will waste time building speed for 12 hours. If this is instead an issue, there's a cvar that causes speed only to be gained from more curved hops. The same cvar can be used to allow speed to be gained on straighter hops, but that would make it far too easy. I'd also like to point out that even at full acceleration, it still took 2 jumps to get across the spikes after the bridge. So building up speed to magically skip traps won't happen. Also, if speed is a concern, the cap can simply be set to 400. This allows Death's base speed to be unchanged and still give Runners an extra 100 Hammer units per second on successive hops. The plugin also makes air strafing easier (this can also be changed), so it makes juking much more accessible.

First of all, sorry that this is in general but i feel more people read this than the individual game sections. I don't really go on the forums much, so idk if threads like this are posted frequently, if so i apologize. I don't really play TF2 or video games as a whole that much anymore, but I recently played TF2 for the first time in a while, and found that JB was completely dead. While I understand that it has been a dead server for months, it still is depressing to see this be the case as it was essentially the TF2 div's largest and most populated server for years. Has the staff or any members tried any methods to try to repopulate the server? If not, could we host an event on a weekend or a Friday (which brings more players) in which people could get on jailbreak? Hopefully you guys agree that populating jailbreak would be pretty fun, even if it was for one night or a weekend. I understand TF2 has fallen off in players over the years, so that could be why the server has died. If you guys agree that xg should attempt to repopulate JB send this to your pals. I miss that poop, brings me back to like 6 years ago in middle school ? also if it grinds your gears that this is in general, just move it if u want :d

I've spent a considerable amount of time on the tf2 servers, the surf server more specifically. I've had many good experiences and had met so many amazing people on the server who I enjoy talking to outside of it. The XenoGamers community has been something I really enjoyed being a part of and what I really want is for it to continue to prosper and grow bigger. Communities like XenoGamers helps Team Fortress 2 stay alive and I respect everyone who puts the time into working towards maintaining and helping this community. For a while now I've been wanting to help be one of those people who work towards making the community a pleasant place to be within and I feel now is the time I try to become a more integrated part of this community as well as work towards helping the community even more just like I wanted to back in my early days within the server. As a part of the staff within this community I vow to take full responsibility of all duties and promise to continue to both have fun and work hard within the community. As for some of my advantages and disadvantages; I'm quite active on the server. TF2 and the XenoGamers Surf specifically has consumed so much of my time in the last few months. I log plenty of hours within the server and even in the late of night. It's both bad and good for the reasons you can probably assume. TF2 takes up so much of my time that there might be points of inactivity due to either lack of interest or me prying myself away from the game to actually do something else. I want to try and moderate my time on the server and with video games as well since so much of my time is spent on it that I kinda push away other things such as my art. I'm also kinda immature at least on mic. I tend to say a lot of stupid things on mic, not particularly harmful things but things that doesn't really present me as formal and it could lead to miscommunication with other players and other staff as it has in a couple small circumstances. However I constantly try to improve myself and I'm trying hard already to help tone myself down on mic and work on present myself on mic. I'm willing for change and I will conform to any ruling or changes that may happen, I'm not too ridged so if there's any advice or things I should change then I will do it. Another thing about me is that I kinda don't take things too seriously which is both good and bad. Certain things like disrespect or toxicity are things I usually laugh off and I sometimes forget that others will take things like that a lot worse than I would. But this is also a good thing because I'm not too prone too toxicity or becoming angry over other's actions which will help in defusing certain situations as well as staying calm under pressure. Anyways, this is all I have to write for now. Thank you all for reading I hope you please consider me. While I agree that a demo would be useful, it doesn't exactly matter to me since I don't really play anymore. Another option would be to tag some others who have witnessed this if you have any you can think of.

Pretty sure they stopped populating it because the people organizing the events left. People did come on, but having the event only once a week is not going to populate the server again. Since pretty much everyone is out of school now people should start trying to populate the dead servers (this has already been happening for FF2, but I'm not in the discord anymore so I don't know what is going on anymore.) If you guys can actually populate JB almost daily, I believe that you can keep the TF2 division from dying off. JB was probably the best server that I played on, and it sucked to see it die not long after I joined xG after getting my joke of a permanent ban removed. Pretty sure I married @WubbaLubbaDubDu on JB, but couldn't figure out how the fudge giving the ring worked. For me, at least, the peak of the division was when I first joined. I was actually somewhat cool back then. Can you believe that? The overall mood of the servers back then was much more suitable to my preferences than it is now, which is part of the reason why I kind of dislike the servers.

I had contacted @Aegean and @virr beforehand to let them know since they already have access to it. The TF2 DLs should also have access to it, don't quote me on that, but they could decide to keep it up (since it's really not hard to maintain), or make it Surf 2: Electric Boogaloo or whatever. It's not really my decision to make though, so you'll have to get more info from the Higher-ups I tagged ?

People take the mumble rap debate way too seriously. Mumble rap is just supposed to be party/car music. I'm not saying it shouldn't be judged by SOME criteria, but basing it on the same criteria as "Lyrical Rap" is disingenuous at best. If your trying to expand your mind by listening to a guy named "Lil Pump" or basically anyway with the word lil in their title, you need to take a few steps back and figure out what the fudge you're trying to get from it. Even lyrical rap is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, and this is coming from a guy who's favorite album includes To Pimp a Butterfly.

Hi guys, it's Synx/VWK/Nova. I was Syn/Trollface/d0x/Asa's fiance. He lived with me for the last 5 years.. Sadly he passed away on the 19th of May to an unknown cause. Currently we're still investigating what it could be. I've been devastated ever since, and I wanted to make sure all of you guys that were a part of his life knew of his passing. Thank you all so much for all the fond memories.

I'll say again what good is server population when it's full of people who make others uncomfortable and would lead to us actually losing population because people don't want to be near them. What good is silencing someone when it has clearly had no effect on them before. Banning someone is the most clear way to outright avoid having someone like this on the server and to get the message across that we don't want people to behave like this around, both to them and anyone else.

I feel like this is something that needs to be said because it's happening way too often. A joke is only funny if everyone is laughing. There is a lot of times when people are being quite rude or intentionally trying to make certain people angry. Unfortunately the jokes have gone from the occasional playful teasing to outright making fun of certain players. Now I'm not going to tell you that you can't shit talk each other all together. Sometimes it's in good intent as long as both parties are content about it. It's been getting out of hand recently though. It's gotten to the point where multiple people start bandwagoning against one person even though they don't like it. So to get to the point, I want to write this reminder that disrespect is NOT allowed on the servers. When someone asks you to stop or is clearly getting upset please do not continue to heckle them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants a friendly environment for everyone. I would like it if you all would consider how you effect everyone else on the server so noone feels alienated. I'm not trying to say you need to be on good terms with everyone. All I ask is that the playful shittalking is consensual or at least acceptable. I hope we all can keep enjoying the server!

Unfortunately, we are here to say goodbye to one of our own, TrollFace aka Asa. Trollface was one of the original members of the community and one of the first higher ups alongside Silence. We found out of his death a few days ago from his girlfriend, and we'd like to formally give our condolences on the forums. XenoGamers would not be where it is today, if it wasn't for him. I wish his family and loved ones all the best, and remember to always show your appreciation to your friends and family cuz you never know when they might be gone.

So I'm leaving xG. I bet a lot of you are thinking "Oh boy, here comes some juicy drama", well then prepare for disappointment. For about a year now, I've felt weird. I felt like something was off whenever I joined and played (what little I could) and I just couldn't pin down what it was. Today, it suddenly came to me, it's not 2013/2014 anymore. The community just doesn't feel like it did when I first started playing, or even when I came back in 2015. A lot of people would argue that xG used to be better. Some would say xG is better now than it's ever been. I just say it's different. It's not any better, it's not any worse, just different. Players and Staff have essentially rotated and have been replaced with newer people, and along with the rotation so has the general attitude on the servers. While that's not a bad thing, it's just not what I grew accustomed to. For a while now, I've attempted to keep what little of the xG I knew intact, by trying to keep rules the same, revert things to how they were, but realized that I'm the only one who wants it that way. Everyone says they remember when xG was at it's peak, but they'll all give you a different answer on when that was. For me it was when I first started playing, back when there was a specific group of us who would play on VSH. Problem is, the majority of those people are gone now, and due to that I've been becoming increasingly bitter towards the community because "it's not old xG, not how I remember it". But it wasn't really so much xG changing as it was me refusing to go along with it and clinging to how it was nearly 5 years ago with a completely different group of people. The biggest issue for me though was when @Bello stepped down from DL. Someone who was Staff for as long as I could remember, and someone I considered one of the best Higher-ups we'd ever had in the TF2 Division. For some reason I felt like because of that the community would start going to hell with all these strange new Staff members wanting to come in and ruin the community. This almost made me feel contempt for the community, simply because they wanted to change a few things or acted differently. I couldn't even read half of the discussions on Discord without feeling like I was gonna have an aneurysm. Again, this was essentially me fabricating problems and overreacting to small amounts of drama I'd see unfold, becoming unnecessarily disappointed with our new Higher-up roster for really no reason. It wasn't until earlier today when I reacted to a post in a way I don't feel I normally would. It doesn't really help the fact that I was also wrong. After re-reading a lot of what I wrote, I realized I was reacting in a way I didn't like, based on the fact I didn't like the Higher-up because we had small issues before and because he's new to his position. So I came to the conclusion that I should simply remove myself from the community before I cause any real issues or divisions. I really don't want to leave, since I consider xG to be a bit of a home for myself, as dysfunctional as it may be sometimes, but I can't really have a home I feel borderline disdain for. I'd like to apologize to @Elcark for essentially telling him that he's not fit for his position while simultaneously being horribly incorrect myself. I'd also like to thank @virr and @Aegean for just being helpful in general and pulling the TF2 Division out of some tight spots sometimes. For anyone else who may have viewed me as a friend during my time in the community, thank you. I don't know if I'll ever return to xG, but if I do, I'd hope you guys would welcome me without pitchforks and torches. Seeya.

+1 Xenome is a genuinely nice person who i see on surf all the time and tries to be the best person he can. He's not the most PC person, but I've heard worse much worse from most staff (including or more specifically myself). He is responsible but doubts himself too much. With some help, he could make fantastic server staff

It's an old feature. Years ago during halloween events, you could find items on halloween maps. These items were spells that you could apply to weapons. Spells that were not applied to weapons/cosmetics were eventually removed by valve, so now only spelled items or cosmetics exist. There are a few different kinds of spells, they only work during full moon or halloween event or on servers that have halloween mode on (like xG servers): 1) Footprint spells (fire-looking footprints of various colors) 2) "Paint" spells (will slowly cycle though a range of colors) 4) Voice spells (change the pitch of your in-game voice to be deeper, things like "MEDIC!" or "Help me!") 3) Weapon effect spells (only three kinds, Exorcism [ghosts appear on player you kill] and pumpkin bombs [explosives blow up like pumpkins and have purple smoke trails], Halloween Fire [Flamethrowers have green flames]) Read more about them here: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Halloween_Spells

Ah, Jailbreak. Kind of like a caring mother for many regulars in xG. I feel your pain upon seeing it empty. Sadly, it has died out lately, and though I and many others within the community have tried to populate it, it only lasts for about 2 days at most now, though it is fun when there's more than 3 people playing. The server just feels like it won't be getting much traction anymore. The cause of this can't be pinned down to any person or action, it simply can't be helped. The most we can do for it now is occasionally revisit what the golden days might have been, as soon as the multiple plugins in place are patched for Jungle Inferno. Until somehow it can repopulate (which is unlikely, as we are technically one of the very rare JB server hosters in TF2), Jailbreak will be a fulfilled shadow of its former glory.

Heres the thing Kypari: not everyone has experience with deathrun/bhop. YOU might be able to catch a bhopper but what about the people who don't have that experience and are overwhelmed by this new element? What then? Tell them to ''get gud'' and thats it? Not everyones like you my guy.
