Er, not to sound judgmental as it's not really my place to say so (not to mention I'm unfamiliar with how the TF2 Division does things), but [if my understanding is correct] if Players are being given extended ban times based on any ban they previously had, regardless of the context of the ban, that seems a tad bit excessive. Mind you, this is assuming that the Player was previously banned for speaking another language (difficult to say since the previous ban was for simply "Breaking Rules"). Given that there is no static ban time for an offense via communication aside from the 4 hours that was previously put in place for mic spammers in the somewhat-obsolete admin handbook (please correct me if there is), I'm assuming that it's dependent on the Staff dealing the ban. That being said, to ban someone from playing on the Server for a week for speaking another language seems really out-of-place, especially if the previous ban was not relevant (again, assuming) to the Player speaking another language to begin with. I understand that Staff have to deal with a lot of stress and it gets to that point where it's easier to deal a harsher ban time to get rid of a problem Player, especially after multiple warnings; but again, banning someone for a week for speaking their native tongue because they got excited or otherwise enthused over something is hardly a reason to ban someone for that period of time. Not implying that Staff aren't already doing so, but it's good practice to put oneself in the Player's shoes before enacting a subjective ban time on such a minor offense. Revoking the Player's mic/chat privileges would have sufficed just as well (for the duration of a round, map, whatever, don't know how TF2 works) and could have been just as effective without being detrimental. To re-iterate, I'm not questioning Staff's capability to moderate so much as I am offering my perspective from the POV of a regular Player on something that seems harsh. For this reason, I'm not going to provide a positive or negative vouch toward this Ban Protest. -

Psa: Staff Titles!

Here's another announcement! But don't worry, it's actually good news for once! Rejects and I figured out how to make certain titles accesable to certain flags. As of today, staff has the option to wear titles according to their ranks. How to claim your title: Type !store. Select "Titles". Buy the according title, it's gonna look like this: These titles are obviously only visible and buyable for staff members. Server Mod looks like this: Server Admin looks like this: Titles will not replace tags for now, we'll have a discussion about that in the future and update you guys on this subject. Enjoy your titles, lads. -

didnt know you got demoted and promoted but still wear the DL tags thanks for the title though -
2 pointsNuclear Dawn is not fine. 99% of the players on that server are bots Servers | Xeno Gamers. Hell, the game is basically dead. I do agree that gmod should be the next division we should invest in though.

I'm sorry to say this but Kypari is right. If he can't follow a simple rule then he should receive a punishment, even if it seems too harsh for you. It's evident that you're not a super professional English speaker, vac [and neither am I] but you speak as much English as possible and anyone else should try the same. Why'd we even have rules if we don't enforce them? -

1 pointThey sniped from spawn and spawnkilled.
-
1 pointI was going to mention that as well but I was busy and distracted at the time. It’s not like they were spawnkilling again, if it was a second count on spawn killing or any other thing then yes a week would be adequate... doing a week for is just nuts in my opinion. Personally I feel it should be handled like this : Example: Person’s Bans Ban 1 - Spawnkilling (1 Day) Ban 2 - English Only (Mute/Gag or if necessary, 1 Day) Ban 3 - Any Broken Rules (1 week) and so on... This seems more of a fair and less harsh thing; yes they need to be taught a lesson but for something as minuscule as a tiny bit of foreign language is NOT worth that much time. And again, not vouching. Just voicing my thoughts.

1 pointall the custom servers are hosted internally on Blizzards servers, so we wouldn't need to host one. Also its currently only possible for a single player to create and set up a sever for server browser and no way to have one up 24/7. Now I got a few games lying around in my library that have servers like Rust. But I would like to see xG maybe make an attempt at populating a game I find is fun but is awfully underplayed called "The Ship". Basically the core gamemode is every player gets given a random passenger on the ship and a random target to kill, to win you have to be the last surviving and kill your target without being caught by either guards or cctv, there are weapons all over to find and use and if you get caught you are sent to jail and have to break out again without being caught to continue searching for your target. On top of that you need to satisfy your needs such as eating, showering and even using the toilet lol. Had so much fun playing with friends over a none dedicated server, nothing beats kicking down the toilet door and slaughtering your target with a crowbar while they are taking a poop :ROFLMAO: Just something to consider since having a bunch of people playing at once would be total mayhem, in a good way. wiki page about the game: The Ship (video game) - Wikipedia

He doesn't need to. We're an American community and we have a rule that says "English only". I also do not expect to be warned in German if I fuck something up. There's no way we could expect staff to [fluently] speak all languages. -

How about we bring back the Terraria server? It was a very fun event. Either that or Overwatch. Or both. -

0 pointsPersonally, I think a week is a bit too much for something that is basically not destructive at all unlike Spawnkilling and Racial slurs. Neutral for now.

I paid for a month just as a trial period to see if there's enough attention, unfortunately without proper plugins it got griefed and had to be soft reset. I will consider terraria again in the future if another big update comes, but in the mean time I don't think I'll do terraria again without good reason. -
-1 pointsin all honesty, we should consider working on our current divisions before we expand them anymore. (ironic coming from me, the least active staff member of all [personal/work reasons]) but before we go into making new one hit/one month divisions, we should make our current ones thrive. not to sound like "that old dude" but back in the day on CS:S alone, our JB server hit 64/64 every weekend (f/sat/sun) for the majority of the day no matter the time of year. yeah, during school activity dropped low, but you could still hop on css and see atleast 10 people at any point in the day. hell the whole "late night jailbreak" that is on CS:GO with "more lax rules, and different lastCT/LR options" is a thing because that's how it was back in CS:S late at night when myself, a few other staff members, and several regulars used to play with a few randoms who would join at that time (roughly between the hours of 11pm - 5am at which point some euro/east coasters would start playing and start out the "regular day"). (a lot of the randoms that joined from "late night jailbreak" went on to be very well respected members (tree, deathgod, to name a few) and we have some xG legends that were a part of that fun time (smoker is the first to pop into mind for old fags). our TF2 servers used to be close to server cap, and TF2 JB didn't even exist at the time. it was things like trade, payload, death run, vsh. not just 1 server, but all of them. You used to be able to hop on to CS:S or TF2 at any time in the day, sort by players, and you would see us right up there with HG on CS:S, and No Heroes and all the other majorly populated/funded TF2 communities. IMO we should spend more time/effort focusing into actively populating our current server base, and learning to have fun with everyone and not be rule/ban whores on the servers so we get people who want to come back because they had fun while still maintaining a mostly civil place. We also should work on properly advertising our MC server with potentially paid ads on the MC voting sites and increasing the unique traits all our servers have over others (our own custom jailbreak plugin on CS:S that we could work on getting going better for TF2?)
