5 pointsGuys I know that people say things about other people when they're not around to listen. I know people do this to me all the time, I personally do not care. I take shit constantly, 99% of the time I ignore it because there's no reason to acknowledge people who do this, giving attention only makes it worse. Yes, I understand it is disrespect, but I personally don't care since people don't even bother to tell me the criticisms they have to my face. If you have witnessed him doing this, it is a valid reason to -1 as it does impact how you feel about his maturity. I personally am going to keep myself at neutral, even though I know what Septik says about me.

Honestly, I love you Gaming.Dylan but how does someone who allegedly shit talks the fucking leadership behind their back expect to get staff? That's beyond me. Like, everyone probably does in steam, but publicly on a server?? -

Funny enough, I actually used my experience here with Xeno Gamers (as general Staff, Division Manager and Co-Leader) in my resume/cover letter when I applied at EA. During the interview, there was actually a large focus on what my responsibilities/duties entailed with Xeno Gamers. Just thought I would mention it here as a neat example that xG can actually have a real-world influence/impact :coffee: -

He does as much as he can as a member, it's not like he can go around like a fucking vigilante saving the server. He, as @Spoopy states, helps populate the servers, I've seen him (when I was staff before) send out calladmins. And he tries his best to give an opinion on the topic of a thread. -

Yes that's fine, but the reason he gave honestly just silly. What exactly does he do to not contribute? Elaborate more. Give more information if you can. And just because he spams a voice command makes him more immature? Someone who is extremely mature spams a voice command, you would still say so? -

Honestly I feel a bit sketchy about coming down this hard on him for shit talking a DM behind their back. If you're saying it's immature to talk behind people's backs in general because it's petty then fair play, but that's really as far as it goes, stuff like this: Naahhhhhhhh... Higher up has nothing to do with it. You're allowed to BM and complain about higher ups behind their backs, or at the very least it's the same level of offense as doing it to anyone else. Their position doesn't give them immunity or cause to punish people that don't like them. Talking behind people's back is petty, but opinions like this of accepting that the DM/DLs can just punish people for criticizing/shit talking/BM whatever you want to call it behind their back, is probably why people are inclined to do it behind their back and not to their face. -

No person is going to like every single damn person in the community. Don't say that it causes his maturity to fall down. Smack talk will happen everywhere. It's nothing new around here. It's been talked to before. If there is an issue between two parties, then they need to confront each other. But whether it's true or not having an issue with someone really isn't a good enough reason. -

Honestly not really a reason to -1 him. Whether they click with someone else or not doesn't really matter. If Septik really did have an issue, then he should just ignore Vexx unless it's something related to business (i.e. server moderation reasons). When I was staff, there was a few people that I didn't really care for or agree with. Didn't mean my moderation was skewed. Just gotta moderate since that's why you are staff. Anyhow, I'm going to +1 this. Septik is a pretty decent guy. It seems like he really could give it a good shot if he became a staff member. I was worried about Parasect getting staff, but he got it and is doing a fine job. Everyone has hiccups and makes mistakes, but again. I'm sure Septik will do fine. -

Even though yes it is ultimately our decision to choose staff, community input does help us come to that decision. If we did want to compare it to an actual election, I guess you could see the higher ups being electoral college. Even though people do "vote" for someone and it does help electorates come to a decision, it's ultimately up to the electorates to decide on who gets elected. -

So this is just a for fun thread and not an actual suggestion, incase anyone gets the wrong idea, but long story short in my government class our warm up today was to design an effective leadership structure for any large group of people that would fit on a notecard, and since online communities were allowed I chose xG. Here goes. It's really not that interesting. 4 CMs, one vote a piece, if tie, goes to council. Council is any odd number of "elder" members who are appointed by CMs, but can be removed with a CM majority vote OR by a community poll of members with %70+ approval, simple council majority breaks tie. Council can deny a promo from DLs by majority vote, with majority quorum, but if the same person is brought up to be promo'd the next cycle, it must be a 70% or higher council vote the second time. It doesn't cover everything, but it isn't everyday xG is part of classwork, so I thought it was cool. -

Let's Remove Cyberpunk 2_2
Tatost reacted to LAN_Megalodon for a post in a topic
Please god, I could write an essay on all the reasons cyberpuke is an awful map. Besides, we have a better version now, one that's not just a singular hallway cluttered with clipping being looked upon by two sniper-towers. Also the spawns in that one aren't infuriating. +1 it needs to go. Trash that garbage. -
1 point+1 it's not necessarily a bad map, outside of being able to block doors with arcade machines there aren't really any glitches or exploits, the issue with this map is just the trolling with music/light spam etc. For you to reasonably play this map enjoyably you need to disable music and avoid the disco area. Sure it's not that hard to do, but that's still a rather high barrier to entry just to be on a map without going insane. The thing is though, you can't even do that, because what's a cool, well executed and reasonably fair idea on 2_a is a pretty big flaw in 2_2. I'm talking of course about random spawns. It not only makes avoiding the flashing lights of the disco impossible, but also turns what would be a cool and decently balanced idea, the sniper towers, into just a cheese fest to race for a spawn in the other teams tower, to camp. Tl;dr we have a better cyberpunk in every way, and this one causes nothing but toxicity whenever we join. It's the biggest example of what I call the "Michael Bay effect": A map that people who understand the system nominate first because that's what usually gets picked, knowing it's bad/controversial and going to cause toxicity. Except in this case it's easier, you just play the ear rape beeping song and have your friend remove the floor. Boom, everyone on the server is pissed, but can't stop it for 30ish seconds. Then it just repeats. Honestly I usually leave on Hallway hell, and I know I'm not alone.

What about having a modded server. If we could have a second server for mods.* For example Pixilmon or ftb (Feed The Beast) packs? -
1 point+1 Low key raises my blood pressure yelling at the same kiddos who think it's funny to lock up the disco room with the arcade machines. It's buggy af, small, linear, the music is bad, it's spammy, always someone turns the lights off over and over, and There is always someone sitting in friendly locking the control room. Cyberpunk 2_a is an upgrade in every way. I hope we can bury this "classic" map to never be remembered.

+1 I think hes been with us long enough and I've never had any problems with Septik as he's usually chill when hes on the surf server. I've never heard him BM anyone on surf so theres that. I also never had a problem with his fly set because once you step like 20 meters away from it you dont hear it so theres no problem with it. Other than that good luck Septik! -

Thunderlimes is right. Septik talks shit about Vexx behind his back when he isn't on the server about how much he doesn't like him which demonstrates his lack in maturity. On the other hand, I know you would be very dedicated to being moderator and you definitely have the will to learn more. Would be nice to see him tried out +1 -
1 pointLook Donakonda, I'm going to be completely honest with you here. I do not think you have exactly what it takes to be a moderator. Yes you are active, but you don't seem to pay all that good attention to anything that is ever happening. You're a good guy dona, but I'm going to have to -1. Sorry.

I understand the testament behind telling him to put more depth into his forum posts, and that he shouldn't "spam" just to make a staff application, but you should still write if you think he'd be a good candidate to be a mod. How detailed he articulates himself on the forums does not contribute to how he acts on the servers, and if you think he would be a good mod. We can always let the application run for an extra month or so if we feel like he would be a good mod but just needs to work on his activity on the forums. On top of that, he is from 2014 so clearly he wants to show interest in being staff when there might not have been any for him in the past. Just my opinion, at the end of the day it is the TF2 higherups who make the decision. -
