no, it just stood out to me as a very odd way to recommend someone for member

I don't even know where to start. So recently I've been seeing staff members enforce a rule that was removed ages ago (the ''no immature voice'' rule) and every time I've had to clarify that its no longer a rule (specifically on surf and a few others) I get told to either: (A) Make a thread on it or (B) Don't argue with staff (which is getting super aggravating). Then I get told that this is ''still a rule'' and that it just means ''don't be a moron on mic'' which is EXTREMELY VAGUE and doesn't help AT ALL with that argument. They also just point me to the ''No voice changers or tts programs'' rule but that makes no sense. Then there's also hypocrisy going on with staff where they'd punish you for being [saying something] ''disrespectful'' but then do it themselves. There are also a LOT of problems with the rules and the way staff portray and enforce the rules because theres a lot of ''up in the air rules'' and the rules themselves need to be fixed across ALL of the servers since its so unorganized and sometimes vague. P.S. Please make sure your staff actually read the rules before they try enforcing anything because from what i've seen the older staff just snowball a non-existing rule(s) into the new staff and it just gets out of control P.S.S. Can you PLEASE fix the ''Dont argue with staff'' rule because staff are using it to shut out people when they're in the wrong and they just make up excuses every single time they're called out for something wrong that they did because apparently criticism is now arguing with someone. ?

Just wanna chime in after reading the thread, for the few who think we should just remake the MOTD, it is NOT easy to just write rules that will not need to be touched on in the future, all it takes is one person to interpret them their own way for us to have to clarify or edit it. I have absolutely no issues with that either as I'd rather people not have to argue about a rule that isn't clear. In CS:S, some rules we created for JB never had to be touched whereas others constantly got reworded. Common sense is unfortunately not that common, so keep that in mind before contemplating why higher-ups won't just "solve the problem"

As you can tell I love charcoal drawing, its been one of my passions ever since I was a small kid, (I still am a small kid but that's besides the point) I thought that this kind of drawing was mesmerizing, and I want to improve. I have snooped around and saw many great artist on the website so I thought I could get some good Feedback. Here are my two favorite pieces I have made. If there are any ways I can improve them please do share! I will take any criticism into consideration. Along with that thank you to everyone who has some feedback that I can apply for the future! He's saying if you actually treat him correctly instead as a animal, that he'll respect you back. I'm going to 100% assume that information is relating to reporting people when ever theres something going on and that he could trust him if he were to lets say, report a hacker? If there's something going on here let's keep it to the pm's because I can see there's something funky happening rn.

Unfortunately, as much as we don't want staff discretion involved, there will always be staff discretion involved with this rule since one situation can be so different from the others in terms of severity, in which some staff members would allow the voice or some would not at all. As annoying as it is there is no rule re-wording that can create an environment where every staff member agree on whether someone gets muted or not. If you are told by a staff member that you haven't broken a rule, but told by another staff member you have broken a rule, it would be best if you just didn't do what you were doing for the staff member to call you out on it. We can elabroate on the rule all we want, but it is impossible for every staff member to have the same opinion on muting someone or not every single time.

Ok so i forgot to include a reason: MJP is someone who has some drama surrounding him and is looked down on by some, but is actually fairly easy to deal with and truely loves xG and would love to see it improve. By simply treating him with respect but still keeping firm, he'll recognize you and treat you with respect. This has worked well for me and he now trusts me. He has led to being considering him as one of the very trustworthy surf regulars as he has never given me false information.

+1 He's drastically changed from the way he was back from when I was staff to now. He actually follows the rules now and I honestly think he should become member since he just fits the role well imo. A:8 M:7

If you're having that kind of problem, collect evidence and create abuse reports. It doesn't matter if we write 350+ words on two golden tablets about a certain rule, issues with interpretation are always going to occur because words cannot completely explain intention in full. Personally I find the rule useful because we do have those cavemen who come on and try to do their best impression of Peter from family guy or whatever else for two hours straight. Rules are generally enforced through precedence, so if you are having problems with staff picking on you for having a small bit of fun, make reports and bring attention to your issue, but generally there's always going to be some amount of subjective interpretation involved with rule enforcement regardless of how well it's worded. In fact I'd argue the more wordy and lengthier the more likely players just skip reading it, which doesn't solve anything.

There was some dude who came on poketrade and just talked in a sub-par impersonation of the soldier's voice 24/7. Trust me, it's a useful rule to keep around.

Depends on where you look, its very clearly mentioned in the TGH MOTD but not so much in the surf one. Elaborating below I kind of agree with this. The idea in theory is good but if its used to censor people thats obviously not ok. However, I would recommend to not try to take those discussions on servers and instead do it on forums or in dms as servers easily get messy and a bit too much when all you wanna do is play the video games. This is actually something that has been brought up and is on our radar. Just looking at jb, tgh and surf for example there are clear differences in the "general" rules and it makes it a bit awkward when transitioning between servers if they arent consistent. It WILL get adressed, we just need to find a time and place to sit down and discuss what we actually want to do with them. Depending on what the others think i wouldnt be opposed to having a thread open with feedback and what people would like to have changed in the future.

I actually disable the rgb on my keyboard because i just dont like the colors in my face and my room never gets dark enough as to where i cant see the keys (swedish summer wooo). If it has rbg, fine, but id rather spend that money on performance.

Staff discretion is iffy and having unclear rules leads to this circle of people claiming mod abuse and mods claiming rule breaking. By having set easy to understand rules, with a few mod discretion rules (Trolling, harassment to an extent) It will help rule breakers know which rule they broke and mods/admins know which rule they enforced. The way it is now I check MOTD before anything because otherwise you get into an issue of them saying you are wrong as they interpreted it different leading them to claim abuse. Rewording is definitely necessary and I would love to help with that if asked
