Even though yes it is ultimately our decision to choose staff, community input does help us come to that decision. If we did want to compare it to an actual election, I guess you could see the higher ups being electoral college. Even though people do "vote" for someone and it does help electorates come to a decision, it's ultimately up to the electorates to decide on who gets elected.

So this is just a for fun thread and not an actual suggestion, incase anyone gets the wrong idea, but long story short in my government class our warm up today was to design an effective leadership structure for any large group of people that would fit on a notecard, and since online communities were allowed I chose xG. Here goes. It's really not that interesting. 4 CMs, one vote a piece, if tie, goes to council. Council is any odd number of "elder" members who are appointed by CMs, but can be removed with a CM majority vote OR by a community poll of members with %70+ approval, simple council majority breaks tie. Council can deny a promo from DLs by majority vote, with majority quorum, but if the same person is brought up to be promo'd the next cycle, it must be a 70% or higher council vote the second time. It doesn't cover everything, but it isn't everyday xG is part of classwork, so I thought it was cool.

Getting rid of someone who is breaking a rule "fast" is not necessarily always the right thing to do. Everyone is new at some point, those people may not know the rules. The job of a moderator is not only to punish those who do break the rules, but to also make sure people understand what the rules are in the first place. You seem like a good guy Septik, but you just seem really immature at times which does somewhat hurt other peoples opinions of you. I know you have cleaned things up as of late, but I'd give yourself more time personally, at least until you understand what you're trying to get into.

sorry but I'm going to have to -1 Reasons being the moment you was told you need 50 forum posts to apply you kinda spammed the forum with small pointless replies with no constructive discourse on threads just to get your post count up with replies such as as "yes, this is good" and "I agree" and it comes across as somewhat desperate and that you only posted for post count rather than adding to the discussion.

You need people to play it with. Myself and a few friends such as Vector, Wyverness (etc) have made an entire town and we love it.

But its the community that can sway a higher-ups decision. Tatost has been a part of the community for a while and even though hes not a member anymore maybe his post could sway a higher-ups decision in the final matter. aka yes, it is kinda a community decision

we discussed this in a different mod app, I am allowed to vouch/post in these threads because, unlike member applications, this puts someone in charge of me and everyone should have a vote on who gets the power. Just like everyone is now able to vote for who they want for president (at a certain age, of course.)

+1 everyone and their mother over posts to get to 50. I'm not really sure that has anything to do with maturity. His posts, atleast to me, seemed more unnecessary than immature, which isn't the biggest problem, especially if it tones down now that he reached the cutoff.. And as for servers he's more than active enough and more than mature enough. The dude deserves a shot.

Just adding another part to this but Donakonda doesnt really understand situations like many others do. I have seen multiple situations where there was sarcasm with the intent to be very very rude but Dona just thought the person was being nice. Im sorry to say this but until you can actually understand people around you better its still going to be a -1 from me.

I understand the testament behind telling him to put more depth into his forum posts, and that he shouldn't "spam" just to make a staff application, but you should still write if you think he'd be a good candidate to be a mod. How detailed he articulates himself on the forums does not contribute to how he acts on the servers, and if you think he would be a good mod. We can always let the application run for an extra month or so if we feel like he would be a good mod but just needs to work on his activity on the forums. On top of that, he is from 2014 so clearly he wants to show interest in being staff when there might not have been any for him in the past. Just my opinion, at the end of the day it is the TF2 higherups who make the decision.

Look Donakonda, I'm going to be completely honest with you here. I do not think you have exactly what it takes to be a moderator. Yes you are active, but you don't seem to pay all that good attention to anything that is ever happening. You're a good guy dona, but I'm going to have to -1. Sorry.

I don't really know what to say, because honestly, I have never had a problem with Dona before. Seems like a pretty cool guy, but should still work on that maturity. Also, everyone, he can say "+1, he/she is mature and active :d" all he wants, nothing really wrong with that. (I swear i'm not hostile like in @Reiki's application.) And quick tip @Donakonda, they aren't completely wrong that you only say "i agree" or something small. Maybe add a bit more into what you're saying, maybe even say "I agree with this, but still 50/50 on this part here [insert quote] because [reason]." tl;dr: You're pretty cool to hang around with, but you need to give a little more thought into what you do. <3

Man this sounds like the minecraft server i used to work for too. I remember the name... Lazytown : owned by a drunk scottish man (like rejects but always drunk when he got on). Well if your server is dieing and you want people in it, then you want some crazy minecwaft youtuber to come in and advertise you server (never gunna happen) or just keep having people in the servers so people who check out this server on online websites can see there are people in. The problem is the people staying in. Like all tf2 server no random will join if there aren't people in the server so you need some regulars in there. As long as you have those regulars in Minecraft then you should slowly get populated by people (random 12 year old that wanna troll and raid mostly). Other than that, put a portal to creative so i can do some pixel art. I wouldn't mind doing pixel art in that server to keep it alive at least and bait some kids into the server.

Just because I'm active on the server doesn't means i should get mod. There's more too it. If that was the case then Xg wouldn't have good mods/admins then.
