@Elcark You raise fair points, I will just say not being accepted due to not meeting criteria, and getting kicked out after you're a member is hardly comparable. For me since I've been here from 2010, have only really agreed with or approved people getting kicked out for: Multiclanning Cheating DDoSing Threatening to DDoS Breaking rules on other servers intentionally (i.e. going on rival jailbreaks and mass freekilling) Starting a problem with everyone, never admitting they are wrong, and they provide 0 value to our community As @Red doesn't into my criteria, I -1'd it for that reason. If the other higher-ups all disagreed with me, then I would allow them to take his membership away as I don't try to have final say in situations like this, but I try to give my input as much as I can. Silence (Rhododendron) and I have always wanted xG to be a community that people can grow in, I've made a ton of lifelong friends here and I'm sure many other people have as well, so I'm not triggerhappy with removing someone from member and I'm sure he would agree as well. Edit: Onto the spinning point, I think @Jaydow sometimes turns his mouse sensitivity like crazy and spins in CS:GO, it might be someone else I don't remember but it has never been an issue on our servers, if red is just randomly spinning I would honestly not hold THAT against him of all things, especially if it's obvious he isn't spin botting (i.e. he's not killing people while he's spinning) Just on the safe side though, if @Red can not meme the staff so no one thinks he's cheating, that would be highly appreciated.

I don't personally think it's necessarily out of the question since tatost's situation wasn't nearly as bad as the things that you listed in my opinion, but I would personally say it's definitely worth membership removal since I would not like to have someone who is toxic, racist, a troll (i HATE trolls) and a bully representing the community on our own servers. I'm mostly indifferent towards membership revocation because of his reply to the thread as I've said though ? He comes onto the server on an alt account which gets rid of his cosmetics and friends, privates his profile, removes his name history all in an attempt to look like a hacker and then uses spinning scripts when he gets kills or such alternatively to just throwing your mouse across the room. I have had quite a few staff members come forward to me about this and some members too, and it's not really based off skill either. Red is a pretty good pubstomper like many other players we have, but his aim only looks shady when coated in all of these factors. It's all in an attempt to bait staff into thinking he's a hacker so he can turn around like "Lol got you staff your staff sucks"

I didn't intent to troll staff everytime i was just having fun with the script even gave it to staff members to use willingly. Doesn't matter what i used it for its still trolling and is annoying the staff roster with stupid calladmins once in a while. Most of the server already knows i do this and are used to me spinning. Most people in our staff team don't even know the common hacker and i was just seeing who would fall for it. Example, I was on pokemon trade where I seen caleb who is division manager was by himself so i join and began killing him while i was using my script. He didn't go check in spec nor even watched how i killed him he stood in 1 place each time and i just killed him then he would just ban me just solely off of that which i thought was unprofessional but later i would find out kypari gave him the green light to ban just on the conclusion of spinning on killcam. I was just testing if our higherups knew what actual hackers are like. A couple days or maybe week ago a user named nicholus.andrick came on tgh who was using a hack cilent and me and my friend got killed by him with his insane flicks and kept twitching to lock onto other players. We went to target him as sniper to just test our theory my friend was in spectate watching as he was seen to use walls and silent aimbot. We would go cloak and dagger spy to mess our with him until staff finally caught on to him. Their were literally multiple staff but none took action until quite later. I know kypari knew he was hacking and got Diaper Wolf to go in spec to see if it was truly hacking which he was caught than perm. A good percentage of our staff team doesn't know difference between a hacker and the casual player. Ill provide dem once my friend sends me it.

He does have a script, and I can prove it b/c I have the same one. Its roughly alias +spin "+left; cl_yawspeed 5000" alias -spin "-left; cl_yawspeed 210" bind f +spin This script is a common meme for snipers/spy/anything using hit-scan. The issue isn't that he has the script, its clearly harmless as you can see, the issue up for debate with it is trolling staff with it.

Meeting rudeness with more rudeness. You're not exactly orchestrating the best cycle there. @Topaz has the concept pretty spot on and while I'd say people were a bit overboard with jumping on your actions, it wasn't meant with the intent to beat you down, but just the consequences of what happened. It was a situation to take a step back and learn from, but how you've chosen to retaliate here doesn't exactly scream personal improvement.

Just a reminder, here's not the place to be hostile towards each other. If you don't have much good to say a, hello/goodbye thread isnt the place to be popping off; however, being hostile or disrespecting others back puts you in the same boat of just kinda being an asshole.

That statement was directed at @SegFault since he believed your remarks towards sorcerer were solely rested on the situation sorcerer himself caused which makes sense considering seg was only involved after that point. The examples of how you acted to him in the snippets above though occurred well before that is what was being explained. Ultimately though whatever reason you may have had to initially dislike him doesn't formulate an excuse to act distastefully in retort any more then excusing it within the lines of "I broke a rule cause he broke a rule". With what @Chrono tacked on with your behavior on the forums and how that example itself being entirely unprovoked it makes it hard to heartily trust that your actions haven't been mostly abrasive towards others, taking back to the second situation with luxuria it's hard to accept you weren't targeting him in any way when you harked back on that specific situation in a fairly horrendous way. I do appreciate how you've come forward about all of this but there's sadly no reasoning this kind of behavior. How in the hell does owning up after being outed measure up to taking responsibility? While there's situations that he isn't the only person acting poorly to say that's been the case every time in this month long situation is an ignorant stretch. Do you understand the purpose of highlighting at all? The chatlogs are available to anyone if you'd like to poke through and defend the things he has said instead of just leaving a passive remark to the validity of him very clearly acting in ways against the rules. A lot of what involved the actions of other people has already been discussed at this point and even in the cases, as already stated, he wasn't the only person acting poorly that doesn't mean that he wasn't still acting poorly nonetheless. Now I'm taking this part entirely second hand but I BELIEVE the point of it is that he is effectively trying to purposefully trick and distract staff into suspecting him of cheating, not that he actually is in any manner. In other words an in server variant of a troll calladmin. Now whether this was his intent (I'd honestly assume not) or if it was actually to any extent that would demand valid suspicion from staff compared to obvious joking around, I can't say myself, but that's just explaining why his usage of an alt was being gone into.

I'm going purely based off of what I was told happened, not just by red but by sorcerer as well. Sorcerer admitted to me that over mic he intentionally made a situation out of it to egg red on and instigate trouble. I'm not saying either players behavior was acceptable, only that I understand why there was a reaction like that from Red. As a side note b/c it doesn't appear this is going to be an issue for red here: I agree with the membership statement, but I would say in general our control of it until this point has been pretty passive (at least for the past year or so as far as I can recall). If we are to reexamine how we revoke membership I don't feel like its fair to throw a member under the bus by having us decide on their ban thread and having them be the guinea pig for a policy.

That's taking the context backwards since as deplorable the situation was for both sides revolving that particular comment, red had already been going at him before it was said. I'd say this is both an exaggeration to an extent, and personally not even accurate as a generalization. If membership was viewed with this kind of extreme in mind then it would be a different story when some people have been denied membership multiple times until they succeed only on the forth or fifth attempt. While this has been the way things were pushed for certain membership removals at a point it was taken more seriously, membership is viewed a lot more lightly since people no longer needed any form of backing to get in (hence why it was claimed as easier to lose) there's also cases of the opposite such as with @Tatost having his membership removed then reinstated within a month and even voluntarily giving up membership and then accepted back with open arms afterwards. I have full doubts of anyone looking at repercussions here that harshly and instead see it as a need for a behavioral adjustment if members are going to be held to any kind of a standard. I may not have been in favor of removal of red's membership, but went into detail because I would think it nice to have a more concise ideal for when membership should come into question instead of the contradictory attitude that has been expressed overtime. Whether that would be having a higher (but at least layed out) standard for members, a more passive attitude and only holding removal for the most extreme of situations (kinda where I'd prefer things) or somewhere in between by bringing the idea of different types of membership back to light (really not in favor of this as it could end up being rather underdevloped and unfair).

Just gonna say the reason why we don't remove people from member often is because we would be pretty much telling him he doesn't have a place in our community and to find a new one. The ban I have no opinion on and will accept whatever the TF2 staff decide, but -1 on member removal based on his response.

This. Absolutely this. To elaborate a bit, I don't personally think you are a terrible person. However, you did something worth reprimanding, and got scolded for it. Very few people, myself included, want to see someone leave for such a reason. Just keep your nose to the ground and work on building trust. However if you are dead-set on leaving, I do wish you luck on your travels.

Division Team Fortress 2 Offenders In-Game Name Red Offender's Identity STEAM_0:1:52947739 Ban Type Server Ban Explanation and Evidence As a mild disclaimer i'm making this in place of someone who would rather remain anonymous in the ordeal, so ideals and opinions will waver slightly. Of course it's what everyone else feels that is important, this is just to get the situation out in the open. So to through it out then, our member @Red has been acting atrociously on the servers as of late. It was first brought to my attention when he and the player yunyun both straight up drove someone off the server and then more and more complaints have been addressed about his behavior. Overall he has constantly acted with disrespect (to put it very lightly) towards all sorts of people on the server, repeatedly used slurs when staff aren't on and apparently trying to bait staff into believing he is a hacker including using an alt to this end (I haven't been able to get a clear answer to if it was positively his own alt, so until a higher up checks such a thing take that piece with a grain of salt). Pieces from chatlogs There's the straight forward call for a ban of some kind to take place for all this here, but there's more being asked here then just that. Red's membership is being brought into question for this in terms of being flat out removed. Now i'm going to go ahead and make this more complicated then it has to be and bring up a few aspects in accord to this idea. First of all, there's been many cases of members acting in similar ways and in the more extreme cases it being acknowledged as problematic enough to the point of them getting banned themselves (more than once for some) yet their own membership never came into question. There's never really been a high demand of membership removal for issues of behavior outside of far fewer situations but at the same time there's always been a general claim to the standard at which members are held as representatives of the community and how one should behave in regards to that. If this kind of behavior was done by someone applying for membership today, they would absolutely be denied for it. Now Red has been a member for quite some time and would have received it at a time where it wasn't handed out quite as lightly as it is now, but that brings into question how much merit can be attributed to the difference in how membership is handled now compared to before. In regards to membership when the changes occurred, there was two things stated; membership while easier to receive would also be easier to lose, and also that there would be some differentiation in membership through some form of "senior" membership or some similar method. Whether this was dropped for reasons pertaining to avoiding a divide between membership or if it was simply forgotten about, it's never been cleared to much of an extent at all from @virr @Rhododendron and @Aegean where how this has been passed up for some many people in the past stands between actual trust and merit someone has earned vs turning a blind eye. A far more simple way of viewing this though would be a matter of if this kind of behavior on the servers should be tolerable for any one of our members who represents the community as a whole through such actions.

Due to the extensiveness of the rules broken, we have decided to ban @Red for a month and he does not lose member, but definitely keep in mind that further rules broken may lead to a perm or membership being revoked -Closed

I really have no stake in this at all but as a passerby on the activity stream I'd like to +1 this statement. The policy of withdrawing membership is clearly not well defined, and as it's a fairly significant thing, I'd feel more comfortable with it being a formal process rather than something that came up ad-hoc in a ban req.

Tricking staff into thinking you're hacking is not funny. It's trolling and there's nothing else to it. I already made a thread about this, but the fact that you purposely try to make people think you're hacking by using scripts and such to appear as botlike as possible does NOT mean that our staff don't know how to spot a hacker. This is mostly on you.

I wasn't saying I have anything against the spinning. I actually think it's quite funny, hell you've gotten me with it before on surf. I was just pointing out to others that the use of the script in trolling is whats being discussed, not the action it's self!

-1 for revocation of member/perm. Everyone was in the wrong here, but only red has had the guts to actually admit it and take responsibility for his actions.

It does really come across badly to staff, so try to keep that in mind! In terms of the behavior on the servers, I can't say you're the only person who acts like this. There has been a wave of people who have been fairly toxic and aggressive to other players recently on TGH (though I personally feel you are a bit more distinct), so I hope this is some kind of a wake-up call to you guys! In terms of punishment, your response is definitely making me lean more towards a +1 week ban and -1 removal of membership. Nice to see that you want to improve yourself, I respect that immensely! However, if such events do happen again, obviously something more serious such as your membership being revoked will actually be in much more serious question than this.

In regards to Red and Sorcerer I believe the context of it is understandable, he was trying to defend his daughter who keep in mind, is a young child, and I can't even imagine how offensive and infuriating it was to hear what was said and read that about a his own child. As for the interaction with lux, I was not there so I can't voice much of an opinion there. I fully agree with this and believe a extended ban is in order for general behavior, interactions with others, and trolling. In terms of revoking membership, I think Aegean nailed, just because Red messed up a bit doesn't mean hes not welcome here IMO. He's been a long standing member and an active contributor to our community, which I feel shows he cares more than enough to stay part of it. +1 for ban, -1 for revoking of membership.

I was in the wrong at the beginning when I thought I wouldn't get in trouble when I began to micspam baby noises for brief 5 seconds until sorcerer told me to stop which I did then replied a few moments later with a pedophile remark about my child then we both just started to argue and use slurs when arguing in chat but I got gagged for racism when he said the n word also and I started chatting to @SegFault to deal with the situation by either giving us both the same punishment. Which i personally thought i was dealt with. I never associate with luxuria to and to even bother trying to make him quit the server. it was mainly yunyun trying to dm him on aquatic which then he proceeded to leave afterwards until giving a statement on how he depressed which I would then later say. I wasn't even trying to go for luxuria I was just pissed off at sorcerer that day which isn't really a good excuse but I will owe up to it and accept it that I made him leave the server due to that one comment and even though I never tried to target him in anyway. I don't recall everything that happened that day but please if anyone who was there thought otherwise please come forward with your perspective of the situation and I would like to have their side of the conversation if anyone could provide. to keep it plain and simple, sorcerer made pedophile remark on voicechat or chat ( I don't remember.) which I would then get furious and start to go at him before staff got involved and would take a dig at luxu I told YunYun to not associate with sorcerer due to the fact that previous day was coming at me and @Bags on mic and was constantly complaining about dying and was trolling then would begin to talk about wave for most of the time and called him massive wave fanboy. I don't see how any of that would mean I was toxic just simply telling a friend not to talk to one person. brutarii changed his name to n-cartel which I would then say "nigger cartel" * no excuses I still don't know how this is relating to me being toxic? The "cry about it" was just bind I made cause Megan/Vesper would usually spam that in chat which I would then say it after her. lag switching was a joke when I saw cheeto lag on the server a ton until I realized it was his connection and I would say stop lag switching just to see his respond. For all those slurs remarks i'd like to take full responsibility of them and say that I kind got tired of being censored and would use those slurs during times when I was playing with either friends on the server or late night tgh or pkmn trade when it wasn't really populated or staff wasn't on. I would personally love an mge server. It would make 1v1 my noobie friends a lot easier since we could just by like hey join mge instead of something complicated such as hey join my server or lemme invite you. Honestly though I would still be happy with a jump server

+1 I've seen Red change badly from these past few months, I remember one time seeing that he had three or four calladmin's in one day under a previous alias "gingo" for micspam, I finally had caught him the third time or fourth time, but it took a long while. He's also been acting really toxic recently too, as Elcark said, he had people leave the server due to it. Although I haven't seen it myself him making people leave, I have seen the more disrespectful side Red.

Just noticed a slight problem with how its currently worded. Since the rule specifically calls it a Tarp, it would still allow warden to unfairly kill Ts in that way after 7. The shorthand of the rule is just "Don't end orders with 'On Go'", so I'd still interpret it that way, but if someone pointed out the loophole I would definitely hesitate to slay them for it.

I was purposely baiting staff to calladmin when on my alt account but would begin to use it when i was locked out my main for a few days. I'll take responsibiliy for that even though if i was warned to stop baiting staff i would had done it long ago but to have it addreass here is silly in my option.
