Unable to be active to become a member

hey guys,

i apologize for vanishing during my application process to be accepted, I've been busy and stuff and i try to get on to steam and i cant now. I've been getting Steam Network errors and when i go to play CS:S and it says it needs to convert to better files and and needs to connect to the internet, when i hit connect it freezes and wont do anything it stops responding and crap. if anyone knows what to do please share on how to fix this, my last resort is to uninstall and re-install. (i am able to log on and go on chat and stuff but all the games i have say the message and its starting to frustrate me) but until this is fixed i probably wont see you guys for how ever long this takes.

It takes more than "a few minutes time"

Let it freeze, don't close it. It will do its thing and finish at some point.

Rename the counter-strike source file under your steam login name. It will create decrease the time the update takes drastically.

 

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<Steam login name>
