I've made a lot of progress on the new TTT server within the past week. It should be done in the not too distant future. I was wondering if there are any TTT maps people would like on the server. So far, a collection of 22 maps has been installed. Steam Workshop :: xG TTT Map Collection Subscribing has its pros and cons. Too many subscriptions *may* bog down game startup times. I've coded up a custom caching feature using Steamworks. For the first 45s after the client is connected to the server, it will download all the server maps onto their hard-drive; where it detects a subscription isn't present. This process will repeat each time the map changes until the client has all maps cached. After a couple map changes, they'll be able to rapidly load any of the 22+ maps that are installed on the server, without having to download anymore.

my idea is where everyday everyone on the server would get a quest or objective for server credits like *get 10 head shots as sniper (125 shmekles) *evade 200 damage using bonk as scout (50 shmekles) *get 3 back stabs as spy (100 shmekles) i thought this would make players come back every day to complete their assigned quest

It could possibly be implemented in a weekly event rather than daily to bring in population. For example I could see a silly for like idk..trying to populate zf with a crazy objective of "Kill a tank with short circuit" That's just my opinion though

this looks good especially being invisible to living players, I'll try it out later and get some opinions from others on how it holds up in terms of lag and playability. I would like to see the "sm_ghostmode_flying" cvar enabled so it gives people the opportunity to observe the remaining players from various angles rather than just being stuck on the ground which is boring especially if you fall into water/lava and are trapped there.

Is it against the rules to have a weapon that has an offensive slur as its name or description? I've always enforced this and so have multiple other staff. If offensive slurs/material are against the rules on mic and in the chat and even on sprays/objectors I don't see why we wouldn't be able to enforce the rule on people who have offensive names for their weapons that everyone can see if you inspect their weapons or get killed by them. @Vexx reportedly said that it's allowed but I've heard from other staff and used my judgement to depict that it's against the rules Can we please have some clarification?

I found our edgelord Swordsmaster that dodges literally everything.

Someone could still report it or we could see it. It wouldn't be really hard to enforce because you can just check if they're using that weapon by switching to spectator. Being as it's an offensive term being using on the server that is the reason I still acted on it.

I only said it's not a rule because unfortunately, we have nothing explicitly stated in our rules saying that steam inventory items with racist or offensive names are not allowed. As much as I'd love to have such rule, it would be something incredibly hard to moderate or keep an eye on due to the fact that you'd basically have to inspect anyone and everyone to make sure they're not using a badly named weapon or item. With that being said, I'd like to hear what other people think.

You would still need to meet the rest of the Moderator Submission Requirements I personally wouldn't mind removing the age requirement. Maturity is something that varies greatly from one individual to another and shouldn't be set in stone. Best of luck on your application @Amylicious!

(there is story if you want it, just not forced down your throat) Pros: Easy to get into/install Fast paced action oriented Looks have held up to the test of time So many different styles you can play Cons: Grindy Gear is hard to come by let alone get upgraded to be "top tier" Economy can surge pricing on items making it hard to get decent gear Final Thoughts: It is a fun MMO to pick up and play, depending on how invested you find yourself you could be playing in large scale guild vs guild combat (War of Emperium) to control castles. I highly suggest finding a good private server to play on as the official version of the game itself has several features that hinder free to play players. Good resources for finding a top private server with varying experience/drop rates are voting sites and RateMyServer.Net :: RO Database & Server Reviews personally I play on low rate servers as those are more of the intended feel of playing the game, and have the best/strongest communities. mid-high rate servers have a lot of players that go just to test out new builds because they can get any item without trying. 1. A vote would have to happen first 2. There are predetermined quests as admins cant say "server give people shit when they do this!" 3. I see this as being a more minigame sort of thing for JB, DR, FF2, and ZF. It would be too easy to get credits if it were a trading server. so uhhhh -1

It seems nice, but very abusable. I feel like it would be better if you could find a way to disable progress until a certain amount of players join the server and making them reset weekly instead of daily along with making the objective much harder to achieve (ex. 100 headshots using the Ambassador)

I understand what your reasoning as to wanting it was, my point is I would just like to see more dedication and desire to receive member beyond something that simple :)

That being said, having a little title/tag being your only reason you want to join tells me you don't really care to put that much dedication in, and won't have any motivation at that point to pursue anything beyond being able to display said title around.

This alone is my biggest issue with it. The floating weapons are annoying, but this downright lets people avoid traps if they coordinate between each other.

I have seen people being turned down for their age even though they were mature enough. Does this apply only to former moderators?

If a person was a staff member in the past, that lets us know how mature of a person they are. We already know how they handle powers and we know how they will do their job as a staff member. Throwing a fit screaming "favoritism" isn't exactly going to get you anywhere, as long as the we higher-ups are fine with it, then the application can be made. The age thing is there because most younger people ARE immature, age does mean a lot when it comes to maturity. I personally would be fine with anyone under the age requirement being staff, so long as they show that they are mature and can handle it correctly. Someone's moderator application is not the place to bring this, just message a higher-up if you have a problem with how things are handled, please do not just post things like this where they don't belong.

Okay so I want to first off start this by saying: @Vexx you made the biggest mistake by allowing Thunderlimes to make his staff application EVEN THOUGH he was under age aka not meeting the current requirements to make a staff app. Im not doing this to start drama but I myself think amy is super fit to become staff but if she doesnt meet the age requirement then she should be able to make this app. This is extremely unfair as I see it as favortism because there are people in the past , that I have seen, attempt to get moderator or thought about getting it but couldn't do so due to the age requirement needed. If anyone reading this is wondering wants to read the rules for creating staff submissions click here. Like if we're going to have this rule we might as well remove it because if we're going to allow stuff like this to happen then theres no point in that rule being there. Now you might be ready to say ''That rule is only to ensure that the person applying are mature so if we know they're mature then its fine.'' No, it isnt because it makes it look like you're telling every other person that was under age that they are immature and unfit for the position and that since they weren't staff before then they don't have the right to make an app. Again if this is going to become a thing where its like ''Oh since I saw someone else do it I can do it as well'' then you might as well remove the rule OR lower the age requirement because I just think this makes it look like we're biased. Again I'm not here to start some sort of war I just think its stupid to favor certain apps because they were staff members before.
