  2. I'm Forest. On again, off again with Xeno Gamers most of the time- sometimes I'll be on servers but more often than not I'll just be on forums lurking. Fun fact: contrary to popular belief, I am not British
  3. I second this notion. Deposited 3/4 of my credits when the bank system was a thing- I demand compensation or I'm going to HR.
  4. Is there going to be an xG-designated Santa doing x-mas trivia for delicious CS:GO skins this year too?? I'm confident that we've been good girls/boys this year! ??? EDIT: o bby it's up
  5. Same opinion as posted in another thread regarding a situation where a Player [mass] freekilled (aforementioned post for reference ). While it's worth noting that the first provided image does present a semi-visible case where the accused is actually caught firing on a T in their cell (third image as well, but barely discernible); but without any physical context aside from word-of-mouth it's difficult to determine whether or not it was justified (eg. was the T caught rebelling, breaking vent, etc) from the perspective of someone who did not personally witness it. As is the case in the other thread [linked above], I strongly recommend that if a punishment is being considered, that it only be limited to a CT ban and not a Server ban unless there is a direct correlation with our rules that state that the user should be perm'd from the server (eg. mass freekill and disconnect).
  6. Personally don't think the evidence is substantial enough to back the claim (no one's fault, just a fact- made a thread re:gathering evidence for reference), not including word of mouth. However, I'm also the type to follow the whole "innocent until proven guilty" deal so I'm not too keen on taking anyone's word for it, regardless of the number of people backing a claim. Reason being that there have been multiple instances in the past where groups of Players would work against one other Player to dish out an excessive punishment (not that this is the case, but the principle still remains) with a lack of evidence. A minor example would be banning someone for flaming with chatlogs provided as evidence, but only providing the accused's logs specifically with no context- they could have been provoked to act out; but I digress. With that all said, is there any reason that the proposed punishment is a Server/IP ban and not a permanent CT ban? Did the accused disconnect immediately following the mass freekill? If not, I don't see why this degree of punishment is necessary, griefing or otherwise unless there is a direct correlation to our rules that state as much.
  7. For future reference, and only assuming this wasn't the case; you may want to hit up the CLs before creating any sort of group/clan/server or what-have-you to represent Xeno Gamers in whatever manner. This applies to everyone in general, not you specifically. Not to discourage anyone from doing this as that is not what I'm getting at, just courteous to let the CLs know that there is an interest in creating any affiliation or endorsements made to/for Xeno Gamers. It could also avoid any headaches in the future should something happen or whatever, n'ah mean? Plus it gives their sign-off on treating it as "official" as opposed to an unofficial thing, so-to-speak. - Fun Police (aka Forest)
  8. FYI, Destiny 2 is free on PC if you download it through the Blizzard client up until November 18th, for those who don't own it or are unaware of the promo.

Sincerity and flattery can only get one so far in life, especially with such an extensive history of trouble. That isn't even considering that you're basically telling us that every other time you apologized wasn't "serious" up until now. Tatost also makes a very valid point- there is no "cure" for a mental illness/disorder, so either you're referring to the fact that you have it under control, or you are pulling it out of thin air and using it as an excuse to justify your past actions; the latter of which would be downright disgusting. With that said, I won't assume either are the case here, but it is worth pointing it out. I don't know you, nor do I know the extent of the trolling you have done in the past, but judging solely on the fact that you can actually see the escalation of bans (day > week > month > permanent) in your Ban History, the odds are really low in your favour that any sort of lesson has been learned (especially now that you've posted within a month of your perm). I won't say that it's impossible, merely unlikely. My suggestion to you, especially if you really are sincere, is to go through the unban challenge. That will serve as your one and only final chance, because once that has been used up and you are perm'd again, there is no going back. This also demonstrates that you are owning your mistake(s) and that you are choosing to rectify it on your own terms. Alternatively, the higher-ups may decide to give you another chance here, but if that is the case I strongly recommend that the use of the unban challenge be no longer applicable to this player. Just my thoughts, but I remain neutral as I reserve all judgement for those who are familiar with the player

  13. Welcome to our colourful community friend! I'm a long-time Member of Xeno Gamers who usually only ever kicks around forums whenever I have a moment to do so (when I'm not slaving away on FIFA for EA), maybe log in every now and again on our CS:GO Jailbreak Servers for shits and giggles too. Make sure to hit up our Discord server to familiarize and introduce yourself among the locals- I hear it's where all of the kids hang out now: https://discord.gg/VWEWDjV Most importantly, be sure to sit back, relax, and enjoy your stay within our community ?
  14. Smash direct H Y P E for tomorrow. Although I am going to legit cry if a certain "leaked" duo was nothing more than a ruse.

  15. TL;DR posts galore, hell yes! Would like to first address one of OP's main points: no, in my opinion a player should not be given a ghost promotion based solely on their social status in the community- that is, the amount of which the player is generally 'liked'. For obvious reasons, this doesn't reflect their capability to moderate servers or to perform administrative duties. Yes, this is something that should be taken into consideration by the higher-ups because there are always two sides to a coin (eg. "fun" vs "serious" staff), but it should definitely not be a deciding factor nor should it be the 'go-to' precedence for whether someone is deserving of it or not. Ghost promos were typically reserved for those who "wowed" their peers and higher-ups. More than it was a pleasantry, it was a way for higher-ups to let a player know that they were exceeding expectations as a Member and that their efforts were being noticed to the degree that they could improve the overall server experience for players, not that they were just "likable". I say "was" because I'm speaking from past experience, however I'm confident that this still applies even today. With that said, I personally am not a huge fan of the situation where anyone gets that opportunity just because of connections; whether that be regularly playing games with a higher-up or just generally being friends. This is primarily due to the conflict of interest and generally bias nature of this sort of situation. Should there be a moment where a player [who is closely associated with any higher-up of the respective Division] is recommended for a promotion [and is interested in taking it], there should absolutely be a Staff application, at the very least as a formality. This is simply to mitigate bias in the process, and while it won't eliminate all bias it will certainly minimize it by giving the community an opportunity to present their opinions/concerns. Although there is something to be said for these instances where it seems like bias/favoritism rules the ghost promos. Those who work hard should receive recognition for it, but the sad fact is that this does not always happen and it can certainly feel like there is some sort of bias at play when others do. But it really speaks for itself: much like any other community-driven process, whether that be in the workplace or here at Xeno Gamers, an opportunity may or may not present itself and fall into your lap- it is not always based on some form of favoritism. You could be the hardest working person and not receive recognition, but at that point you need to ask yourself: did you voice your opinion? Are you actively making an effort to let the higher-ups know that you are deserving of it? Or are you simply waiting for it to happen. Consider even, that you may not play at the same hours that a higher-up may, thereby making it that much more difficult to be recognized. It's easy to scream "bias/favoritism", but know that it likely won't help you. Sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands and to simply own it. Yes, a ghost promo is a special case, but that should not make it any more desirable than outright applying for a Staff position. All-in-all, trust in your higher-ups to be making the right call/decision with minimal bias/favoritism- because believe it or not, they also rely heavily on you to provide your opinion, comments and feedback all the same, even in situations like ghost promotions. If it helps, keep in mind that they are unpaid, just the same as any other Staff, and that their best interests are for the community (which is more than I can say for my employer).
  16. Tyty. Wasn't sure if the same rules applied to our Discord server, good to know. Please disregard my comment [regarding political banter] in that case
  17. Might do something for work, haven't decided yet.
  18. Keeping any "serious" discussion thread on-track in forums is already a stretch. I can't imagine how much worse it would be in a channel on Discord. I share the skepticism of everyone else who has posted saying as much here, it just isn't really worth it. Besides, I don't think our rules prevents anyone from discussing that stuff publicly in any given channel to begin with, though please correct me if I'm wrong.
  19. Enjoy LoZ: BotW? How about the song artist "Pogo"? Both? Listen to this:

Ty for info, but I won't lie- I had a guess it involved the TF2 Division (given your on-again, off-again history). Classic Brian ? I don't suppose there were any examples of the behaviour demonstrated at the time (can PM me it if preferable)? Just want to gauge it on the 'toxicity scale'. Should probably also get those who were affected/targeted to provide their input here as they definitely should have a say in the matter. Last but not least, this occurred in Discord: was it in #shitposting? Since that channel is pretty much a free-for-all with no rules (excluding TOS), though correct me if I'm wrong because I've never actually looked into our community server.
