How to become a better css player

Recommended Posts

This is done by the best of the bests.

1. Everyday Deathmatch for about 15 minutes or until you cant take it anymore.

2. After deathmatching, Play training_aim at the appropriate settings. for 15 or until you cant take it. (http://www.reloadedgaming.com/fpsb/maps/227/training_aim_3.rar)

3. Use a professional cfg. i use, (http://static.esportsea.com/global/configs/game.cs/222841.rar) if you don't know how to install, add "laughterkills" aka Takibo to ur friends list and ill teach.

4. Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhHoJsBbr4Q

5. Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=3nlUaUvMnME;list=FLm61peKCZuwulf3uqQIaWbQ

6. TAKE THOSE VIDS IN CONSIDERATION.

7. For those who really want to become better. Buy ESEA. $6 a month. If you do REFER ALPHAprime for some free esea points.

8. Practice, Practice.

WARNING: ALWAYS SAVE YOUR DEFAULT CFG BEFORE SWITCHING IT WITH THE NEW ONE. AND ALWAYS DISABLE STEAM CLOUD.

PS:THIS CFG WILL MAKE YOUR FPS MUUUCH BETTER. SO I ALSO RECOMMEND IT FOR THOSE WHO GET LOW FPS.

Putting a fair amount of effort on deathmatch over a long period of time will improve your aim the most.

However this only improves aim, so by playing many scrims/mixes/matches (whatever its called over here) you will improve what is called gamesense which is basically knowing how to outsmart opponants whilst not being outsmarted. It also helps a lot to play matches with those that are better than you, since you pick up lots of little tricks that can be used on different maps.

And if you're really keen, buy a 120hz monitor! :P

Meh. I am just terrible. :P At all first person shooters. I could play for hours and not get better. I will be walking around in hallways and then BOOOM!! the entire team is on me. I just always get killed by cheap shots.

You learn how to peak and how to listen to footsteps and that won't happen.

Or vantage points. And checking your corners. Sometimes it's better to wait it out and let them come to you. Some people say it's all camping, but some of it is less "cheap" than that.

Hey man, thanks for the post. Another thing I would say is getting to know the maps better is a great way to improve. It's not too hard because the maps in CSS are pretty simple, but yeah.
